Objective
Description
The Bible and Literature Translation Association (BiLTA) traces its roots to 2012, when the visionary who is the current Chairperson, Fr. Katete Jackson Jones, and his team began pursuing the dream of bringing the Bible to the Senga people. With determination, they reached out to various organizations capable of undertaking translation work in Senga land, located in Chama District. After years of prayer and effort, the Lord granted them a breakthrough, leading to the official registration of the Senga Bible and Literature Translation Association (SBLTA) in 2019, dedicated to serving the Senga-speaking community. In 2022, the organization embraced a broader vision and adopted the name BiLTA, expanding its mission beyond the Sengas. Today, BiLTA is committed to ensuring that many more language groups across Zambia can encounter God’s Word in their heart languages. BiLTA has established itself as one of the leading organizations in scripture translation in Zambia. Its journey is marked by significant milestones that demonstrate growth, resilience, and a deep commitment to cultural and spiritual transformation.
